We decorated the house for Christmas. Tim insisted on getting a real tree—as usual—so the girls will have a good childhood. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care and the next day, Sarah said, “Mom, now don’t feel bad, but the stockings should be hung in a different order, like this.”
Emily’s tooth finally fell—well, was extricated—by a bagel last Friday. She couldn’t wait to go to bed and put her tooth under her pillow. The next morning, a shiny gold dollar coin was in its place. Inspired by this deeply spiritual experience, Emily took pen and paper and illustrated her version of the event.
The girls visited Santa in Pennsylvania the day after Thanksgiving. Sarah and Emily took the Toys R Us newspaper advertisement with them. On the top of their list are the Rescue Pets Train and Play Puppy, which lifts its leg and urinates, and the FURREAL FRIENDS Newborn Piglet, which snorts, squeals and oinks.
